Angels on bare skin

My skin has taken a turn for the worse in the last year. Combination of factors; age (alas!), the dry australian climate, stress, excessive caffeine intake, lack of exercise, lack of sleep and poor diet, come in tops.

Cheryl recently recommended Angels on Bare Skin by LUSH and based on her glowing review, I decided to give it a go. I must say it took some will power to walk into the Lush shop because the characteristic pong from their shop often sends my sense of smell into overdrive, and deters more than attracts me to want to check out their products. It has been years since I last visited a LUSH outlet. Cheryl, you should get some commission from my sale, me thinks :)

I am glad I walked in though, cause the facial scrub is a delight! What I love about it is how the grains are not hard and beady like most facial scrubs, the ground almonds are so gentle, you can reportedly use the scrub on a daily basis. The thin film of non-greasy almond/lavender oil that remains post wash brings relief to the parched terrain that is my skin.

Here’s Tom to give you a better idea on the actual texture of the scrub.

A little higher

Recent inexplicable desire to own heels! Have always loved wearing flats, but these days I seem to be drawn to heels. All part of growing up, I guess.

Ferragamo really makes timeless classic shoes.

Cart before the horse

Some lovely creatures from Cart Before the Horse
At $160USD a pop (some, more), it is a fortnight’s worth of grocery money this poor student, but they are still beautiful nonetheless! Hope they’ll still be around when I am done and making proper money :)

Magic garden

A few years ago, I had a crazy idea to build a website from scratch, this was when my ridiculous obsession with whimsical garden parties began (I haven’t quite grown out of that phase yet), an idea which never saw fruition.

I came across Alannah Hill‘s website a while back and spent a long time taking in all the details of the first two pages. Elements of her site were what I had imagined said website to look like. Gnomes! Mushrooms! Woodland critters!

Gnomes…

Melissa

I love Melissa shoes, especially the range designed by Vivienne Westwood. I love the element of whimsy in her designs and aesthetics aside, Melissa shoes are wonderfully pliable and comfortable.

A favourite from the Vivienne Westwood series

Vivienne Westwood Boots!

I bought two pairs on the recent trip to Bangkok

And have since located Melissa’s online store for the Australian market.

Oh deary me :)

Shuband

An old mate from boarding school recently started her line of ‘Shubands’, which should be available on etsy soon (as to an actual start date, I have no clue, come on already Shu!). I will post the link when she has it all up and running, in any case, I received my first one in the post today, so here’s a preview of good things to come :)
